Celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Awarded by CAISO to develop a robust state-estimation system for real-time operations (a multi-phase contract with far-reaching impact).

2024

Received a five-year contract from TEPCO to develop advanced OPF technologies.

In AEPA-E Competition 3, achieved 1st place (Division 1), 1st place (Division 2), and 2nd place (Division 3).

OPEN-VQ is successfully running at EGAT in closed-loop operation.

2023

Delivered the PMU-enhanced EMS to SRP, Arizona.

In AEPA-E Competition 2, achieved 2nd place (Division 1), 3rd place (Division 2), and 2nd place (Division 3).

OPEN-VQ completed system tuning and optimization and was fully launched with automated operation.

2022

Awarded a five-year TEPCO project on renewable-uncertainty modeling.

2021

Ranked 10th in AEPA-E Competition 1.

2020

Awarded by Salt River Project (SRP) to deliver a PMU-enhanced EMS system.

2019

Received “Innovation Project of the Year” from a UK network magazine.

Collaborated with Hitachi on the OPEN-VQ project at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), with a contract value of USD 8 million.

2018

Tainan office established.

Received a contract to install TEPCO BCU and VSA at Dominion Energy.

2017

Awarded a contract to install VSA at Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E).

2016

Awarded a multi-million AAA-system development project by UK Power Networks (UKPN).

2015

Received a contract from Seremban Engineering Berhad (SEB) to install PMU-enhanced VSA, state estimation, and generator-parameter identification.

2014

Awarded a five-year TEPCO project on renewable-uncertainty modeling.

2013

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) signed service contracts for two projects.

Signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Hitachi.

2012

Awarded a three-year consulting contract (USD 1 million) by the Abu Dhabi government.

2011

Taipei office established.

2009

Together with ABB, successfully installed the TEPCO BCU at Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), and others.

2008

Awarded by TEPCO to develop an Optimal Power Flow (OPF) tool.

Successfully installed VSA&E at CAISO.

2007

Awarded a five-year TEPCO BCU development contract.

Awarded a TVA project.

2006

Started a partnership with the California Independent System Operator (CAISO).

Awarded by CAISO to develop an advanced VSA&E solution (ten vendors competed).

Awarded a Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) project.

2005

Awarded the Osaka Gas project for distribution-system tools.

Awarded an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) project.

Successfully installed VSA&E at PJM.

2004

Received a two-year contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Awarded an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) project.

2003

Started collaboration with PJM Interconnection (PJM).

Awarded by PJM to install a Voltage Stability Assessment (VSA) package (ten vendors competed, including GE, Siemens, ABB, and Schneider).

2002

Awarded a BCU development contract by TEPCO.

Awarded an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) project.

2001

Awarded an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) project.

2000

Started a partnership with Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) to promote the BCU package.

Awarded a four-year BCU development contract by TEPCO.

1999

Awarded a one-year BCU development contract by TEPCO.

Awarded by KEMA ECC to deliver a three-phase Distribution Network Analysis tool.

1998

Dr. Hsiao-Dong Chiang became a full professor at Cornell University.

Received a contract from New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) to develop distribution-system tools.

1997

Started collaboration with TEPCO.

Dr. Chiang was recognized as an IEEE Fellow.

1996

Delivered the BCU software to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).

Delivered another BCU software package to Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (EPDC).

1995

Founded by Dr. Hsiao-Dong Chiang in Ithaca, New York.
